EVALUATION QUESTION 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
In this soundcloud a teammate and I discuss how we have combined elements of our horror trailer and magazine front cover along with the movie poster talking about conventions in the themes/sub-genres, colour and the narrative and finally the importance of the phone prop to help all of the products look cohesive.
EVALUATION QUESTION 1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
In this video my teammate and I talk about our sources of inspiration from real media text for the movie trailer, movie poster and magazine front cover. Since I edited the trailer I began by speaking about how expected conventions such as in the mise-en-scene, sound, characters, and narrative structure helped me form a guide for the pace, sound and other elements in our trailer. We then show comparisons for our magazine cover and movie poster to support our reasons for things such as costume and graphics to help our projects match real products and aid them to look more professional.
